Pumpkin Patch Round-Up

Here is a list of just some of the pumpkin patches and farms where you and your family can pick the perfect pumpkin, go on a hayride, navigate a corn maze and much more.

 

Clayton Valley Pumpkin Farm, 1060 Pine Ln., Clayton

When:  Sept. 28th - 30th 12 PM - 5 PM,  Oct. 1 - 31, 9 AM - 8 PM

Free admission, fee for activities and pumpkins.  Pumpkin Playland including a hay bale tunnel, pyramid of straw, bean pots to play in and more. $6 unlimited play for kids.  Train rides for $2.50.   New Little Carver's Barnyard play area with Duck races, Horsey Hop-a-long.  Unlimited play in the Barnyard for $5 per child, free for adults 21 and up with purchase of child admission.

Pumpkin patch with inflatable slides, bounch houses, obstacle course.  Halloween items, snacks and drinks for sale.  Photo taking area.

Shadelands Ranch Pumpkin Patch, 2660 Ygnacio Valley Rd. Walnut Creek 

 

Petting zoo with pigs, goats,rabbits and chicks, pumpkin painting, photo stations, and snacks.  

Friday nights are MOVIE NIGHT - a different movie each week. Sit amongst the pumpkins and enjoy snack while watching your favorite family movies.

Smith Family Farms, 4439 Sellers Ave.,  Brentwood 

While this farm can be a bit of a drive, it is a popular field trip spot for local schools  Activities include a hayride to the pumpkin patch where you can select your pumpkin, music performances, corn maze, Miwok Indian Village, barnyard animal area, country store and picnic area. Open in October.   Mon.-Fri reservations avail. 9:00AM-1:00PM, drop in 12:30 - 5:00PM.  Sat & Sun 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  Admission $8 Mon.-Fri., $9 Sat. & Sun.  Admission includes a pumpkin!

G & M Farms, 487 East Airway, Livermore

When: Oct. 1-Oct. 31; Patch: Mon.-Fri. 2 pm-6 pm, Sat.-Sun. 10 am-6 pm; Maze: Mon.-Thur. 4 pm-8 pm, Fri. 4 pm-10 pm, Sat. 10 am-10 pm, Sun. 10 am-8 pm

Cornfield Maze and Pumpkin Patch featured twice on the "David Letterman Show".  Huge corn maze can take an hour or more to complete (or so I hear).   Pick  your own pumpkin from huge patch.  Produce, decorative gourds and Indian corn for sale.  Farm animals and staw bale maze for the younger kids.  Maze $7 - $10, children 5 and under free.
